The award-winning Lamorinda School Bus Program was approved by the Contra Costa Transportation Authority in 1994. The primary purpose of the program is to reduce traffic congestion in the communities of Lafayette, Orinda and Moraga. Estimated Revenues for 2009-2010:

The program is run by an eight-member Joint Powers Authority comprised of elected officials from the three cities and four schools districts in Lamorinda and a new member from Piedmont Unified School District.
The program is staffed by Program Manager Juliet Hansen and Administrative Aide, Sue Graves.
Board members include: Sue Severson, City of Orinda; Rikki Sorenson, OUSD; Mike Metcalf, Town of Moraga; Charles MacNulty, MSD; Don Tatzin, City of Lafayette; Ann Appert, LSD; Chris Learned, AUHSD and June Monach, PUSD.
